Writing

During my time as a student The University of Texas at Austin, I spend time in the Liberal Arts and Communications studying sociology and journalism with a specific focus on the impact of media and culture on identity formation and deconstruction. Due to this educational background, my relationship to writing is one of questioning and observation. I’m interested in using the written word as a telescope to examine that which has been taken for granted.

Following participation in the August 2021 cohort of In Surreal Life, a writing program created and led by Shira Erlichman, I’ve felt called to step into a more intentional engagement with poetry as a space of possibility. Since then, my work has appeared in the lickety~split poetry journal and The Black Liberation Blueprint.
