My values are the foundation of everything I create and the guiding principles that direct my actions. These values apply not only to my personal life but how I work and measure success. In practice, these values look like:
- Centering relationships and human connection
- Resisting white supremacy culture
- Laughing often
- Practicing radical empathy
. . . is the presence of pleasure and radical hope despite pervasive cruelty, suffering and violence. Joy is our birthright. When practiced in adverse moments, joy is a form of protest. When embodied in daily life, joy is a form of worship. The heart of any and all good work in the world is rooted in joy.
. . . is an openness and eager humility in a constantly changing world. Healthy growth is rooted in empowerment and belief that people are capable of evolution and most whole when they are imperfect and unfinished. Growth necessitates an insatiable passion for life.
. . . is the eternal calling of our lives. Healing is not about fixing brokenness but coming more whole. Healing necessitates loving relationships and an unwavering belief in the power of story. Healing invites complexity and extends beyond linear progress. Healing is an active releasing of shame (big and small) to access and own our collective liberation.
